What happens to my account, passes and vehicles when I move out?

When the office records your move-out, passes stop, expected visitors are cancelled, vehicles are unlinked and keys revoked — but history is kept, and a second home is unaffected.

Last updated

When you leave, the office records a move-out for your unit. Its purpose is simple: a recurring pass for a housekeeper or dog walker has no end date, so without a move-out it would keep opening the gate long after you had gone. Here is exactly what ends, what is kept, and what changes if you have more than one home.

What ends

  • Guest passes. Every active pass you issued is deactivated, one-time and recurring alike.
  • Expected visitors. Visits still waiting for an arrival are expired. Someone already marked as arrived is not affected — they are checked out normally when they leave.
  • Vehicles. Vehicles registered to you and your household members are unlinked from the unit. They are deactivated, not deleted.
  • Your login. You are signed out of the app on every device — and, if you also live in another community, there too; just sign back in, your password is unchanged. Your residency on the unit is deactivated, which is what closes the resident portal for that home.
  • Bluetooth keys and access cards. If your community uses them, they are revoked automatically with the reason “moved out”.

What is kept

Nothing is deleted. Your visitor history stays attached to the unit, so the community can still answer who visited that address last year. Your personal data is not erased by a move-out; if you want that, see the deletion article below.

If you have more than one home

  • Removing a home that is not your primary home only deactivates that home. Your account, login and Bluetooth key are untouched, because you still live in the community.
  • Your primary home cannot be removed while another active home remains; the office makes another home primary first.
  • Removing your only (or last) home deactivates the account, removes your resident role and deletes your membership photo.
  • A removed home can be re-added later if you return, though never as your primary home.

Good to know

  • Only the office can record a move-out; you cannot trigger it yourself. Tell the office your move date so the timing is right.
  • Keys and cards are revoked only when you leave the community entirely, not when you drop one of several homes.
