How billing works: what your community pays

The short version: the visitor-management platform is free for your community, and your residents are never charged a cent. This article explains who pays for what, so you can answer a board member or a resident with confidence.

Residents pay nothing

There is no resident fee, no app-store charge, and no in-app purchase anywhere in Maximum.Community. Residents don't enter a card to invite a guest, hold a Bluetooth key, answer the gate intercom, or show their Membership ID. If a resident asks whether the app costs them money, the answer is simply no.

The platform is free for your community

The core platform — visitor passes, gate scanning, the on-property log, work orders, packages, amenity booking, announcements, vehicle registration and violations, incident logging, board reports, and the resident app in eleven languages — is provided free to every community. That means:

  • No subscription and no per-unit, per-door, per-gate or per-resident fee.
  • No setup charge — configuration, resident import, guard training and ongoing support are part of the platform, not a professional-services line item.
  • No minimum term and no trial that quietly turns into an invoice.

Because there is no subscription, there is nothing for you to buy, renew, or cancel to keep the platform running.

So who set our community up, and how?

There is deliberately no self-service sign-up button. Maximum.Community issues gate access to real people at a real address, so every community is verified and configured by a person before a single resident is invited. Your community was set up this way, and your point of contact for anything about the account is the team that onboarded you — not a billing portal you log into.

When something does carry a cost, who pays it?

A few optional add-ons carry a real cost, and where they apply the charge is arranged with your community (or with the security company that serves it) as a separate written agreement — never billed to residents, and never a surprise. See What's included, and the three things that cost money for the full list. None of them is required to run the free platform.

What this means day to day

  • Add as many residents, guards, gates and passes as you need — there is no seat count to top up and no cap to hit. See What's included, and the three things that cost money.
  • You won't find a billing screen in your admin sidebar, and that's expected — managing the platform account is handled for you, not by you.
  • If your community ever decides to leave, you can export your data and close the site with no penalty and no final invoice, because there was never a subscription. Ask your point of contact to start an export.

Have a billing question anyway? — for example about SMS charges or a white-labeling quote — see Payment, your subscription, and who to ask.
