New property manager: start here

Setting up your community in Maximum.Community? A first-week checklist and where each task lives.

Welcome. This is a short orientation for property managers and community staff — the order to set things up in, with a link to the full guide for each. You will do this from the web console in your browser.

Sign in to the web console

Sign in with the email you were invited on and set your password on first sign-in. If someone on your team cannot get in, work through “A resident can’t log in — what to check” — the same checks apply to staff accounts.

1. Add your residents

Start with “Add a resident and their unit,” or bring everyone in at once with “Bulk-import residents from a spreadsheet.”

2. Set up your gates and access rules

See “Set up a gate and its access rules” and, for a shared entry tablet, “Set up the tablet intercom (kiosk).”

3. Bring on your guards

See “Add and manage guards and security staff” — then point them to “New guard: start here.”

4. License plates at the gate

See “Set up license-plate (LPR) auto-open and BOLO / banned plates.”

5. Keep in touch with residents

See “Post a community announcement” and “Message every resident at once (reach and limits).”

6. Day to day

See “Review the visitor log” and “Manage work orders.”

7. Move-outs

When someone leaves, follow “Cut off a former resident’s access (move-out checklist).”

8. Reports and emergencies

See “Run reports and export your community’s data” and “Emergency mode: send an emergency alert to the whole community.”

Help your residents get started

Send new residents to “New resident: start here” — it walks them through signing in, notifications, guests, and the gate.
