A party pass is not counted by scans. It is counted by how many guests have been checked in against the Guests allowed number you set when you created the event. “At capacity” means that number has been reached, and the pass will not admit anyone else until you raise it.
How the count works
- Each guest a guard checks in adds one to the checked-in count. Each scan of the party QR at an unattended door station adds one as well.
- When the count reaches the limit, the pass is refused with “Event has reached maximum capacity”, and the web shows the event as At capacity.
- The per-pass “uses” limit that ordinary passes have does not apply to a party pass — one code is scanned by everyone, so it is the guest count that matters.
- Your guest's pass page shows how many guests have checked in against the limit, so they can see it too.
Late guests and walk-ins
While the event is active and under capacity, the guard can check in a guest who is not on your list as a walk-in. Once the event is at capacity, or the pass has expired, that option is switched off. A late guest therefore gets in as long as there is room — set the number with some headroom.
Raising the limit
On the web at app.maximum.community, open Party events, choose Edit Event, and change Max Guests (1 to 500). The change applies at once, and the QR code your guests already have keeps working. In the app, Edit pass is not offered for party passes, because the limits belong to the event.
Your guest list
You can add named guests up to the limit; past that, adding a name is refused because the guest list is full. A name can be removed at any time before that guest checks in — on the web, use the remove control on the guest row (the app gets this in its next release). Once a guest has checked in, the entry stays as a record. Naming guests is optional — the list helps the guard, but the count is what gates entry.
Good to know
- A party pass with no end set expires 24 hours after you create it. In the app, set Ends (optional) if the party runs longer.
- The Guests allowed stepper in the app and Max Guests on the web both cap at 500.
