When a guard needs to be sure they are really talking to you — a phone call about an unexpected visitor, or a request made at the gate — they can ask for your verbal security password. It is a word or phrase you choose yourself, and it lives on the web at app.maximum.community under Settings.
Set or change your password
- On the web, open Settings from the menu and switch to the Security tab.
- Under Verbal Security Password, type a memorable word or phrase. Use the eye icon to show or hide what you typed.
- Tap Save. You will see “Security settings saved”.
To remove the password, clear the field and save again — a blank field clears it.
Who can see it
- You can see it any time in your own Security tab.
- Guards see it when they open your record in resident lookup, alongside your household members, vehicles, denied visitors and any notes the office keeps for guards. In the search results, before a record is opened, a guard only sees whether a password exists — not what it is.
- Your community office can also set or change it on your resident record, for example if you agreed one over the phone when you moved in.
The password is stored encrypted and never reaches the database as plain text.
Do Not Call Contacts
The same tab has a Do Not Call Contacts card: “People that security should not call to verify visitors.” Tap Add contact, fill in the name, phone, relationship and note (each is optional), then tap Save — for example a household member who works nights and should not be woken to approve a delivery. Guards see this list in the same lookup, so they know who to skip.
Good to know
- This is not your login password. Changing one has no effect on the other.
- Keep it private, and only share it with a guard when they ask you to verify your identity.
- Choose something you can say out loud without hesitation — it is spoken, not typed.
- The Security tab is a web setting. The iPhone app does not have this screen.
