The Household page on the web at app.maximum.community lists the people who live at your address, and normally you can add, edit and remove them yourself. Two situations change that. This article explains how to recognise each one and what to do.
Reason 1: your community uses Membership ID
When Membership ID is switched on, every household member is a card a guard can scan and verify, so the office decides who is on a home. On the Household page the Add member button is replaced by a notice: “Household members are managed by the office while Membership ID is on. Contact the office to add or change members.” The Edit and Delete buttons are hidden too. If a save slips through from an old browser tab, the server refuses it with the same message.
What to do: ask your office to add, change or remove the member. They can also capture the person's membership photo at the same time.
Reason 2: your home has reached its member limit
Communities can cap the number of active household members per home, and some membership tiers carry their own cap. When adding one more would go over the limit, the save fails with “This home has reached its household member limit”.
- Only active members count, so removing someone frees a place.
- Re-activating a member who was deactivated counts against the same limit.
- If your community has not set a limit, there is none.
What the page shows when it is editable
- Roles are Primary, Adult, Teen and Child. First name, last name and role are required; phone and email are optional.
- The list shows active members only, each with their role and a status badge.
- Adding your first member creates your household record automatically — nothing to set up first.
- Removing a member also deletes any membership photo captured for them.
Good to know
- Guards see your household members' names, relationship and phone number in resident lookup, which is why keeping the list current matters.
- The Household page is a web page. The iPhone app does not have a household editor.
